This explains what Sunwick collects, who can see it, and the choices you have. Sunwick is a golf league and scramble app, currently in private testing.
What we collect
Your email address, which you use to sign in. Your display name. The leagues and rounds you take part in, your scores, and the handicap numbers you or your organizer enter. The messages you write in a league chat. Names an organizer types in for guests.
If you turn on notifications, a code that identifies your phone for notifications. If you scan a QR code, the camera is used on your phone to read it; nothing is recorded or stored.
Our service providers also see technical data such as your IP address when your phone connects, in their ordinary logs.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, or payment details, and we do not use an advertising identifier.
How we use it
To run the app: sign you in, keep scores and standings, show league boards, deliver chat and notifications, and keep people safe (reports, blocking, removing abusive accounts). We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other apps.
Who can see it
Members of a league can see each other's names, scores, handicaps and chat messages.
A public watch link for a round shows players' first names and last initials, their scores and the course. It never shows handicaps, emails or accounts.
Companies that help us run the app
Supabase hosts our database and sign-in, in the United States. Google's Gmail sends the sign-in emails, so it sees the recipient's email address and the code. Expo, Apple and Google deliver notifications, which contain the league name, the sender's name and the start of a message. A golf course data service answers course searches; we send it the course name you typed, not your information.
These companies handle your information only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
While your account exists. When you delete your account, your sign-in and email address are removed, your notification codes and preferences are deleted, and your name is replaced with "Deleted user" for everyone else. Scores and messages you posted stay in the league's record under that name, so other members' results stay correct. Copies in our service providers' backups are replaced as those backups rotate.
Rounds you started on your own (one-off rounds) are deleted with your account. A league's owner can also delete the league at any time, which permanently deletes its weeks, scores and chat for everyone in it. You can delete a round you created, too.
Your choices
You can change your name, mute a league's notifications or turn notifications off, report or block people, and delete your account in the Account screen. To ask about anything else, including a copy of your information: Tell your league organizer, or use the contact details on the app's store page.
Children
Sunwick is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Security
Information travels between your phone and our servers over encrypted connections, and access to league data is limited to the people in that league. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that nothing will ever go wrong.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app. Questions about privacy: Tell your league organizer, or use the contact details on the app's store page.
